CAROLINE SECTION
Route 96B to Route 79

Distance 17.7 Miles

This section of the Finger Lakes Trail (FLT) starts 3.5 miles southeast of Danby on NY Route 96B at a culvert over Danby Creek. Parking is available on shoulder of Route 96B and on Durfee Hill Road just east of trail crossing. The section ends one mile east of Caroline on NY Route 79 at bridge over West Branch of Owego Creek. Hikers may park off Route 79 west of bridge at snowplow turnaround or on shoulder of road in winter. Some intermediate access roads are Coddington Road, White Church Road south of Brooktondale, South Road, Old Seventy-six Road southeast of Caroline Center, and the following dirt roads - Braley Hill Road, Shindagin Hollow Road, Level Green Road, and Blackman Hill Road.
